We were commissioned to carry out a full attic conversion, transforming an unused roof space into a functional and well-finished living area.

The project involved structural alterations, installation of rooflights and a full internal fit-out, delivering a clean, modern space while working within the constraints of the existing building.

 

 The Brief

The client was looking to maximise the available space within the property by converting the attic into a usable rooms.

 

Key requirements included:

  • Structural alterations to support the new layout

  • Installation of rooflights to introduce natural light

  • A clean, well-finished interior suitable for everyday use

  • A layout that made efficient use of the available head height

 

 The Work Carried Out

The project involved multiple stages, starting with structural work and progressing through to final finishing.

Works included:

  • Installation of structural steel to support the new floor and roof loads

  • Formation of the new floor structure

  • Installation of rooflights to improve natural light

  • Insulation and plastering throughout

  • Full internal joinery and finishing

 

 The Detail

Working within an attic space requires careful planning and precision, particularly where head height, angles and structural constraints are involved.

Attention was given to:

  • Achieving clean lines around rooflight openings

  • Ensuring a consistent and high-quality plaster finish

  • Accurate joinery work around door openings and transitions

  • Creating a practical and comfortable finished space
