Kirkliston sash and case window replacement

We are currently undertaking a full sash and case window replacement at Kirkliston Community Centre, on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

This project involves the careful removal and replacement of existing timber windows with bespoke, traditionally manufactured units, designed to retain the character of the building while significantly improving thermal performance and longevity.

The existing windows show clear signs of age and deterioration, including failing paint systems, open joints and general wear typical of traditional timber windows that have reached the end of their service life.

The building itself is of traditional stone construction, requiring a sympathetic approach to ensure all new work respects the original character and detailing.

All new windows are being manufactured in our North Berwick workshop using traditional mortice and tenon joinery techniques.

Each unit is made to match the original proportions and detailing of the building, ensuring the overall appearance remains unchanged.

The specification includes:

  • Heritage slimline double glazing

  • High-performance draught sealing (Aquamac 21 system)

  • Premium quality timber selected for durability and stability

  • Full factory preparation prior to installation
