Custom Accoya Front Door for
RNLI in North Berwick
We were commissioned to design, manufacture and install a bespoke timber door and frame for the RNLI shop in North Berwick.
The project required a durable, high-quality solution capable of withstanding a coastal environment, while maintaining a clean, professional appearance in keeping with the RNLI brand.
The Brief
The existing door had deteriorated due to exposure to harsh weather conditions. The client required a long-lasting replacement that would:

-
Withstand coastal exposure and moisture ingress
-
Provide improved durability and stability
-
Maintain a high-quality painted finish
-
Reflect the RNLI’s visual standards
The Solution

We manufactured a new door and frame in Accoya, chosen for its exceptional durability, stability and resistance to movement in exposed conditions.
The door was built using traditional joinery methods, ensuring strength and longevity, while allowing for a precise fit on installation.

Particular care was taken to:

-
Achieve clean, accurate detailing throughout
-
Ensure a tight, weather-resistant fit
-
Prepare all surfaces thoroughly for finishing
-
Deliver a smooth, consistent paint finish in RNLI blue
The Detail

As with all our external joinery, attention to detail was key to the final result. This included:

-
Careful preparation of all timber surfaces prior to painting
-
Sealing and protecting vulnerable areas against moisture ingress
-
Accurate installation to prevent movement or distortion over time
The Result

The completed installation provides a durable, high-quality entrance that meets the demands of a coastal environment while maintaining a clean, professional appearance.
The use of Accoya, combined with traditional joinery techniques and careful installation, ensures the door will perform reliably for many years.
